Woman arrested after £850 of stock stolen from Norfolk lifestyle shop

A woman has been arrested after £850 worth of stock was stolen from a lifestyle shop in north Norfolk.

Make Holt, based in Shirehall Plain, was targeted repeatedly, with hundreds of pounds worth of items taken over three days in September.

Police said a woman allegedly entered the shop on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, between 9 and 11 September, and stole goods each time.

A spokeswoman for Norfolk Constabulary confirmed that a woman in her fifties has been arrested on suspicion of theft. She has been released on bail until 6 December.

Chris Taylor, who runs Make Holt alongside Leanne McColm, said the thefts were “appalling and absolutely devastating”.

The independent shop is based inside the Grade II listed Shirehall building, opposite Byfords, which dates back to the 1700s and has served as a prominent public building over the years.
