Worst-Rated GP Surgeries in the West Midlands Revealed in 2025 Patient Survey

People across England are once again being asked to rate their local GP surgeries as part of the annual National Patient Survey. The survey collects feedback from patients about the quality of care, ease of booking appointments, and overall experience at their practices.

Responses help highlight areas of concern for the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and give practices insight into where improvements may be needed. Patients are asked to rate their GP as very good, fairly good, fairly poor, or very poor.

In the West Midlands, several GP surgeries were rated poorly in the 2025 survey, with fewer than half of patients giving a “good” overall rating.

The lowest-rated practices and their patient scores were:

  • Saltley and Fernbank Medical Practice – 36% rated good overall
  • Stone Cross Medical Centre – 40% rated good overall
  • Aubrey Road Medical Centre, Small Heath – 42% rated good overall
  • Jubilee Health Centre, Wednesbury – 42% rated good overall
  • Finch Road Primary Care Centre, Lozells – 45% rated good overall
  • Hawthorns Medical Centre, Smethwick – 45% rated good overall
  • Victoria Road Medical Centre, Aston – 46% rated good overall
  • Black Country Family Practice, Tipton – 47% rated good overall
  • Clifton Lane Medical Centre, Stone Cross – 47% rated good overall
  • Great Bridge Health Centre – 48% rated good overall

Patients will be invited to share their views again in the new year, with the full national survey results typically published during the summer.
