Emergency services were called to a property on Olton Boulevard East, Acocks Green, shortly before 2pm on Monday, January 13, following reports of a serious assault.
The victim was found with severe stab injuries. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
West Midlands Police confirmed that the man’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
A police cordon remains in place around the property as detectives carry out forensic examinations. Officers are also conducting CCTV enquiries and speaking to potential witnesses in the surrounding area as investigations continue.
In a statement, a West Midlands Police spokesperson said:
“A murder investigation has started after a man was fatally stabbed in Acocks Green. We were called by ambulance colleagues to an address on Olton Boulevard East shortly before 2pm this afternoon.
“A man was found seriously injured and, despite the best efforts of paramedics, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
“Our investigation is at an early stage and officers are working at pace to establish the full circumstances, including speaking to witnesses and reviewing CCTV.”
Local officers have been deployed to the area to provide reassurance to residents while enquiries continue.
