Ellis, 19, was gunned down at the Liver Industrial Estate on Sunday 23 June 2024. Detectives have been working to track down those responsible for his death.
On Thursday 11 September, a 32-year-old man from Croxteth was arrested on suspicion of murder and possession of a firearm. He remains in police custody and is due to be questioned.
This latest development brings the total number of arrests in the case to five.
Detective Inspector Steve Wilkinson said: “Our investigation is making progress and this man will now be questioned about Ellis’ murder.
“Although we have made another arrest, I want to urge anyone with information to come forward. Even the smallest detail could be vital to our inquiries.
“I want to thank the community so far for the information they have provided to us and assure them that we are determined to get justice for Ellis’ family.”
