Lily was last seen on Wednesday 17 September, captured on doorbell footage leaving her home in Torridon Close at around 2.30pm. Her family reported her missing shortly before 8pm that evening, sparking a widespread police search involving drones and specialist teams.
On Thursday, Leicestershire Police confirmed a body had been found.
A spokesperson said:
“While formal identification has not yet taken place, the body is believed to be Lily and her family has been informed. They are being supported by specialist officers.”
The force added that her death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

Family Tributes
Speaking to the Metro, Lily’s mother Joanna Swindin described her daughter as “smart and witty”, adding that she often avoided public transport and large social settings.
“She’s not a very social girl but has a heart of gold,” she said.
Lily was described in police appeals as being 5ft 2in tall, of slim build, with long blonde hair. At the time she went missing, she was wearing a black puffer coat, jogging bottoms, a checked scarf and black trainers.
The community has been left shocked and saddened by the news, with tributes and condolences continuing to pour in for Lily’s family.
