Jordan Dixon was found dead at his home on Foster Street on 26 May 2025. A post-mortem examination confirmed the cause of death as hanging.
The inquest at Preston Coroners Court revealed that Mr Dixon had a history of mental health issues and had made previous attempts to take his own life. However, he had not been in contact with mental health services for around 12 months leading up to his death.
Background and GP Statement
According to a statement read during the hearing, Mr Dixon’s GP reported that the last time he saw him, he appeared calm and rational. Despite concerns, Mr Dixon declined a referral to mental health services at that time.
Assistant Coroner Richard Taylor expressed his sympathy to the family and friends, stating that while the court could not provide all the answers, the evidence suggested Mr Dixon had intended to take his own life.
The coroner formally recorded a conclusion of suicide.
