Crimestoppers has announced a £5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a man wanted in connection with a serious stabbing in Birmingham.
West Midlands Police launched an attempted murder investigation following the attack, which took place at around 6pm on Monica Road in Small Heath on Saturday, August 9 last year.
Officers said the victim was pushed off a quadbike, punched to the ground and then repeatedly stabbed in the head. He survived the assault and continues to recover from his injuries.
Police are seeking 29-year-old Jafir Nazir in connection with the incident. Detectives have urged anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.
Detective Sergeant Ian Leech of West Midlands Police said: “The victim of this awful attack continues to recover from his injuries. It’s important that we speak to Nazir in connection with this incident. I would appeal to anyone who has any information on where Nazir is to get in touch.”
Alan Edwards, West Midlands Regional Manager at Crimestoppers, described the incident as a violent crime that left a man seriously injured.
“We know some people may find it hard to speak directly to the police, and that’s why Crimestoppers offers a completely anonymous way to share information,” he said.
“You can tell us what you know without giving your name or any personal details. We cannot trace your call or track your IP address. No one will ever know you contacted us.”
Crimestoppers confirmed that to qualify for the £5,000 reward, information must be given directly to the charity, not to police. Tips can be provided anonymously by calling 0800 555 111 or via the organisation’s website.
