Police Make Arrest Following Chesapeake Bank Heist

Chesapeake Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a bank robbery that took place last week on the 3300 block of Western Branch Boulevard.

Carlos Wilson Nixon Jr., 35, has been charged with entering a bank armed with intent to commit larceny and robbery using a firearm. Police say he approached a bank teller, demanded cash while threatening to use a gun, and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

The bank remained closed following the incident. A bright green sign on the door advised customers of the temporary closure and directed them to nearby branches.

Residents and local businesses may notice an increased police presence as officers continue their investigation and gather evidence. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Chesapeake Police Department.
