Boroughbridge Manor Care Home partnered with Right at Home – Harrogate to host a ‘Big Green Picnic’ event, aimed at raising awareness for Dementia Adventure, a charity dedicated to helping people living with dementia experience the wellbeing benefits of nature and the outdoors.
The event brought together residents, relatives, staff, and members of the local community to enjoy a summer picnic filled with laughter, storytelling, and freshly prepared treats from the home’s head chef. Guests shared cherished family memories while raising awareness for the vital work Dementia Adventure does in providing supported holidays and training for people with dementia.
Veronica, Managing Director at Right at Home Harrogate, highlighted the importance of collaboration and community support:
“At Right at Home Harrogate, it is so important that people living with dementia receive the right care and emotional support. By partnering with Boroughbridge Manor, we can work together to raise awareness and promote better mental wellbeing for both individuals and their loved ones.”
Susan Carter, General Manager at Boroughbridge Manor Care Home, also expressed her gratitude:
“We’re truly thankful to Veronica and our friends at Right at Home Harrogate for making this event possible and for helping us support Dementia Adventure’s incredible mission.”
One resident summed up the joyful atmosphere perfectly:
