Ferguson Shared Goddaughter’s Details with Epstein, Newly Released Files Suggest

Newly released documents from the United States Department of Justice appear to show that Sarah Ferguson introduced her then 22-year-old goddaughter to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein approximately a year after his release from prison.

According to emails contained in the latest tranche of files, Ferguson shared contact details for Poppy Cotterell, the daughter of her former lady-in-waiting, with Epstein in November 2010, writing, “Over to you! … Lots of love.”

The correspondence suggests that Epstein subsequently arranged a meeting with Cotterell and discussed the possibility of offering her employment managing his art collection. Further exchanges indicate that he considered making a 100,000 dollar donation in her name to a health charity.

Epstein, who had served a prison sentence for soliciting prostitution from a minor, was released in 2009. The documents also indicate that Ferguson took her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, to meet Epstein shortly after his release. The introduction of her goddaughter occurred about 16 months later.

Emails show Epstein instructing an assistant to schedule a meeting, with one message confirming Cotterell’s arrival at his residence. Later exchanges referenced her interest in being introduced to Dr Woodson Merrell, a practitioner of integrative medicine. An email suggested that Epstein’s office would notify Dr Merrell’s team of a proposed six figure donation in Cotterell’s name.

In a statement previously given to The Sun, Cotterell said she had been working as an intern at an art gallery in New York in 2010 when she was introduced to Epstein regarding a potential job opportunity. She said she declined the offer after meeting him and did not see him again.

“I did not request a donation to any charity and do not know if one was ever made,” she said.

The Times has approached her for further comment.

The disclosures come amid renewed scrutiny of Ferguson’s movements and associations. She has not been publicly seen since her former husband, Prince Andrew, formally known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, faced renewed controversy in connection with Epstein related matters. Reports suggest she has been living abroad after moving out of Royal Lodge in Windsor.

Recent media reports indicate that Ferguson may have spent time at the Paracelsus Recovery Clinic in Zurich, a private mental health and addiction facility known for treating high profile clients. The clinic declined to confirm whether she had stayed there earlier this year.

Ferguson has previously spoken publicly about seeking treatment at the clinic, stating that she had been diagnosed with PTSD and ADHD during an earlier visit.

A spokesperson for Ferguson declined to comment on the latest disclosures.

The newly released files form part of ongoing document disclosures connected to Epstein’s network and associations, which continue to attract global attention years after his death in custody in 2019.
