Two alpacas made a surprise visit to Wilton Place Care Home in Wilton, bringing joy and laughter to elderly residents.
The animals spent time in the courtyard, visited individual rooms, and interacted with residents in the bistro area.
The alpacas were brought by Alpaca Adventure, giving residents the opportunity to pet them and learn more from their owner, Mrs Williams.
The visit created a memorable experience and boosted the wellbeing of everyone at the care home.
Antoinette Roberts, general manager at Wilton Place, said: “Our residents have really enjoyed their unusual visitors today.
“We knew that having the animals here would be a bit of fun for all our residents, especially as some find it difficult to go on many outings in our minibus.

“We are always looking for new activities for the residents and today we have seen the enjoyment and the therapeutic influence animals can have on people.”
Resident Josephine described the visit as a highlight.
She said: “It was simply wonderful having the alpacas visit us today, they were so well behaved and I think they enjoyed the fuss.”
Wilton Place is part of Barchester Healthcare and provides residential and dementia care for up to 66 people, offering both respite and long-term stays.
