According to data analysed by Optimise Accountants Limited, those living in the city are struggling with work-life balance.
The study gathered data from the Office for National Statistics and assessed seven key factors.
These included average weekly working hours, commute times, overtime, the percentage of people working past retirement age, households with two or more working adults, households with no employed adults, and sick leave rates.
An overall score was then calculated, placing Norwich seventh out of 20 UK cities.
Locals work an average of 37 hours per week and carry out around 1.5 hours of overtime, the second highest in the top 10.
Around 72.4 per cent of Norwich residents are also still working beyond retirement age.
The city ranked higher than Leeds, Birmingham and Cambridge in the list.
