Umbreen David, managing director of Hoama Group Ltd and operator of Iden Manor Nursing Home in Kent, secured victory in the Best Female Entrepreneur Business Services category at the 22nd annual programme. She will discover whether she takes home bronze, silver or gold at a gala ceremony in New York on 10 November.
The Stevie Awards are billed as the world’s premier business awards, celebrating female executives, entrepreneurs and employees across the globe. This year’s event attracted more than 1,500 entries from 48 nations and territories, with finalists judged by 190 international business leaders.
David’s recognition comes on the back of her leadership at Iden Manor, where she has introduced new standards in person-centred care. Judges highlighted her “visionary” approach to social care and commitment to excellence.
She is also spearheading the Meadow View project , a planned 70-bed care facility still in design drawing on her own lived experience with muscular dystrophy to shape an accessible, therapeutic environment focused on resident wellbeing.
Her leadership philosophy, centred on integrity, authenticity, family values and growth, includes advocating for greater representation of disabled leaders and recognition of social care’s vital role in society.
The award follows another milestone earlier this year when she won the Stelios Award for Disabled Entrepreneurs 2025, cementing her profile as a leading voice in care innovation and disabled leadership.
“To be recognised among such extraordinary women in business is an honour especially for work rooted in care, community and innovation,” David said. “This nomination reflects not only my journey as a founder, but also the work we do at Hoama Group, my commitment to mentoring entrepreneurs, advocating for disabled leadership, and redesigning what care can be.”
More than 400 women and guests are expected at the New York ceremony, which will also be broadcast live. Maggie Miller, president of the Stevie Awards, said: “Now in its 22nd year, the Stevie Awards for Women in Business attracted an exceptional range of nominations. We are continually inspired by how meaningful it is for women to receive a Stevie Award and the lasting impact it can have on their careers and organisations.”
