Who Was Cody Morrison? Inquest to Determine Cause of Death in London Case

An inquest has been opened in Norfolk following the death of a 26-year-old man who was discovered dead in southwest London.
Cody Morrison, from Chamberlain Rise in Wymondham, was found in the New Malden area on June 21.

At Norfolk Coroner’s Court this week, it was confirmed that Mr Morrison’s identity had been officially verified by Detective Constable Maloney.
A post mortem examination found that he died from multiple injuries, although further details about how those injuries were sustained have not been disclosed.

In a statement provided to the coroner’s officer, Cody’s father, George Morrison, confirmed his son’s personal information, including his date and place of birth—April 26, 1999, in Cape Town, South Africa.
It was also noted that Cody was unemployed at the time of his death.

Area coroner, Johanna Thompson, said: “Evidence is being obtained by the police investigating his death, his GP and other service providers, as well as a pen portrait from the family.”

A full inquest to establish the official cause of Cody Morrison’s death is scheduled to be held at Norwich Coroner’s Court in February next year. The hearing is expected to last one day.
